Llandudno FC can confirm that Michael Jones, Dylan Proctor, Lee Stokes and Sam Downey have departed the club following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.
Michael Jones
Michael Jones leaves the club after three hugely influential years at the Go Goodwins Stadium, having joined the Seasiders in 2023. A respected figure both on and off the pitch, Jones played a major role in the club’s recent success and became a key presence within both the dressing room and coaching staff.
Manager Jordan paid tribute to “Carrots”, saying:
“Carrots is an unbelievable guy. I haven’t met many people as good as him in football. He’s loyal, he cares deeply about what he does and, more importantly, he drives standards every single day. I’ll never be able to thank him enough for everything he’s done for me personally and for the football club. He’ll always be welcomed back with open arms if he ever wants to return. Now it’s time for him to enjoy his retirement and spend time with his family. Thank you.”
Dylan Proctor
Dylan Proctor also departs after playing an important role in the club’s JD Cymru North title winning campaign.
One of Jordan’s final additions last summer, Proctor quickly settled into the squad and contributed with several goals throughout the season, including the dramatic winner away at Buckley Town after the side had fought back from 2-0 down.
Jordan said:
“Dylan came into the club after a difficult spell at Rhyl, but he settled in quickly and became a big part of last season’s success. He scored important goals in pivotal moments and embraced everything about the football club from day one. He’ll always be welcomed back here. Thank you, Dyl.”
Lee Stokes
Local defender Lee Stokes leaves the club after joining during the summer of 2024.
Despite injury setbacks limiting his opportunities last season, Stokes produced memorable moments in a Llandudno shirt, most notably his late header against Colwyn Bay at the Go Goodwins Stadium.
Jordan commented:
“Lee has been brilliant from the moment he walked through the door. He’s a talented local lad who unfortunately had a frustrating season with injuries. I’ll never forget his late header at home against Colwyn Bay. That was a special moment. I wish him nothing but the very best moving forward.”
Sam Downey
January signing Sam Downey also departs the club after announcing his retirement from football.
Downey brought valuable experience to the squad during the second half of the campaign and played his part in helping the Seasiders secure the league title.
Jordan added:
“Bringing Sam to the club was something I’d wanted to do for a while. He knows the club well and lives in Llandudno, so it was great to finally make it happen. He brought experience and professionalism to the group and played his part in the title win. I’d like to thank him for everything he’s done for me and the team, and wish him all the best in retirement.”
Everyone at Llandudno FC would like to thank Michael, Dylan, Lee and Sam for their contributions to the club and wish them all the very best for the future.
