Sponsors of Llandudno Football Club “The Hotel Clearance Company” and “Crest Cooperative” have come together to save hundreds of pounds worth of food from landfill by bringing it to Crest’s food bank to support local families at risk of food poverty.
Crest has run a food bank programme for several years providing tens of thousands of meals annually to local families struggling with the aftermath of the pandemic and the growing cost-of-living crisis. Last year alone over 35,000 meals were provided from their flagship store in Llandudno Junction.
Although Crest uses its own reserves to keep the foodbank fully stocked, they are always looking for sponsorship or donations to help them support the rising demand for food parcels in Conwy County.
Fellow Club sponsor “The Hotel Clearance Company” contacted Llandudno FC to offer food donations from an outlet that they were working at locally and wanted it to go to a good cause, who in turn contacted Crest.
Thanks to this collaborative approach, hundreds of kilos of food was saved from being wasted and Crest’s foodbank has been able to help even more local people.
Managing Director of Hotel Clearance, Luke Sturman, said:
