Narrow Defeat To Champions The New Saints
Llandudno Unlucky Following Big Performance Against Top Of The Table TNS
Llandudno hosted TNS in the Under 19 Development League in what in recent history has always been an exciting encounter, and this didn’t disappoint.
TNS began the game confidently and knocked the ball around well after beginning the campaign with 6 wins out of 6, but Llandudno held firm and kept their shape really well with Joe Carey, Sean Mcaffrey and Iwan Jones combating the midfield rotation.
Anthony Marshall and Cal Jones were solid throughout at the heart of the defence, with Owain Jones working hard up top for the home side.
Half chances fell to TNS forward Rob Reynolds, but slowly Llandudno grew into the game, 2 fine long range efforts from Mcaffrey were saved well by TNS keeper Aaron Jones, the keeper was called into action 2 minutes later as he saved well at the feet of Aron Hughes, but the moment of the first half fell to the gloves man as he somehow tipped a half volley over from Owain Jones expertly with one hand as Llandudno began to put a foot hold on the game.
As always with TNS though you have to be switched on, and a lapse in concentration meant Callum Jones volleyed home just before the break.
HT – 0-1
The second half was similar to the first, although TNS with the wind at their backs looked a threat throughout.
They doubled their lead through forward Ryan Reynolds with 10 minutes remaining, although the forward did look to be in an offside position.
FT – 0-2
