Llandudno Come Away With Point In Live Game
Connah’s Quay 1-1 Llandudno
Connah’s Quay scorer: Nathan Woolfe 11’
Llandudno scorer: Danny Hughes 68’
Llandudno stopped their losing streak with a point away at Connah's Quay Nomads in the live Sgorio match.
The Nomads started quicker, with Michael Wilde going close and then a goalmouth scramble being cleared. Danny Hughes then had the visitors’ first chance of the game, his shot from the edge of the box forcing John Danby into a good save.
The Nomads hit back though, and took the lead on 11’, Wilde finding Ryan Wignall on the right wing, and his floated cross to the back post was headed home by Nathan Woolfe.
Driving rain then followed briefly as the game evened out. Llandudno looked dangerous in spells, Toby Jones and Ryan Edwards going close. Nomads threatened again, Woolfe crossing to
Edwards who headed wide from seven yards out, before Ryan Wignall found space in the area, but couldn’t direct his shot on target.
Danny Hughes then again went close on the stroke of half time, letting fly once more from outside the area and again forcing Danby into making a good save.
The second half started evenly again, but Llandudno began to enjoy a spell of pressure around the hour mark and were eventually rewarded. Hughes, again, hit another from 25 yards, this time finding the bottom corner of the Nomads’ goal.
The away side continued to pressure the Nomads after equalising, Nomads responding in equal measure, and either side could have won it but were eventually left with a point apiece.
