March Draws To A Close
Two Goals Each Means Llandudno And Airbus Share The Spoils, And Town Finish March Having Drawn Every Game.
With the sun shining and a previous record of goals between Llandudno FC and Airbus UK Broughton, everybody was hoping for a very enjoyable game.
A stray pass from Danny Shaw in the first minute almost gave Airbus an early lead, but luckily for Town the ball ended up hitting the post and was cleared.
Airbus played the better football early on and deservedly took the lead on 10 minutes as Reece Deakin was given a free header 10 yards out, and he made no mistake in putting the ball past Dave Roberts.
In the 18th minute Danny Hughes was looking for another Goal of The Month award as he fired a good effort towards goal from 20 yards, but Ryan Nield was alert and made a smart save.
Llandudno equalised from the resulting corner, Danny Shaw heading home for his second goal in as many games.
The game was well contested for the remainder of the half, with the best chanced to take the lead falling to Town in the 43rd minute. Jamie Reed delivered an excellent in-swinging cross towards Marc Williams. Williams got a flick on it, and both Ben Jago and Robbie Parry were inches away from poking the ball in.
2 minutes into the second half Robbie Parry beat his man to the ball but was off balance when he shot, and his effort was deflected for a corner. A good delivery from the corner saw Marc Williams get to the ball first to nod home and put Llandudno in the lead.
Williams almost doubled his tally in the 50th minute with a volley, but it was well saved by Nield in the Airbus goal.
Llandudno were in the ascendancy from there on in, coming close on a number of occasions, but Airbus managed to grab a scrappy equaliser in the 74th minute. Ashley Williams shot from outside the area, and the ball bounced around the box before Tony Gray smashed it into the net.
The game ended 2-2, and Llandudno once again failed to hold on to their lead despite playing the better football and being generally the better team. That's 4 games played in March, and all 4 games drawn.
Our next home game is against Aberystwyth on Sunday the 9th of April, live on Sgorio with a 4.15pm kick off.
