Llandudno Deny Ruthin Comeback To Progress

Llandudno Progress To Quarter Final For First Time In 23 Years
With really blustery conditions here at the giant hospitality stadium Llandudno were pitted againt the wind in the first half, but knocked it around best they could to try and find the gaps in the opening minutes and figure out Ruthin's shape.
The first chance of the game fell to Marc Williams after only 6 minutes who tries a delicate chip using the wind from the edge of the area, but it flies just over the goal and in to the Ruthin crowd.
But it didn't take long for Llandudno to find the back of the net as Toby Jones cut inside from the right on to his favoured left foot and strikes on from 28 yards out in to the top corner with the keeper no chance! 1-0!
Ruthin's top goalscorer Llyr Morris had the first chance for Ruthin as he hits one with the outside of his foot from the edge of the area, but Roberts watched it well and palms over.
With just over 5mins to go until half time Ruthin nearly capitalise on a mistake at the back as their forward sneaks on to a loose pass and looks to poke it past Roberts, but the Llandudno stopper produces another good save to keep the score at 1-0.

Both Llandudno and Ruthin start the second half a little tentatively with the conditions worsening, but the longer the game progresses the more Ruthin are pressing for an equlaiser fancying their chances.
With 60mins on the clock Ruthin find an equaliser from a free kick as the player whips it towards the far post witht he assistance of the wind, and it drops over Roberts head and in to the net. 1-1.
Marc Evans who has played a frustrated figure up front by himself tonight makes way for Lee Thomas just after the hour mark, with Matty and Marc Williams now occupying the forward positions.
With Ruthin and their fans now full of confidence they have Llandudno on the back foot and it only takes them less than 10mins later to find another goal. A poor clearance from Roberts goes straight to Ruthin in midfield who directs it back to goal, Roberts had made his way back but he misses the ball completely and it's 2-1 Ruthin.
With the clock ticking down Llandudno are desperately trying to push for an equaliser and they thought they found it when Marc Williams produces a diving header on target but Goldston pulls off a great save.
It looks like Llandudno could be looking at another cup exit but with 3 minutes to go Assistant Manager Matty Williams on his debut buries a header in to the net following a scramble in the box. 2-2!
Relief for Llandudno and they nearly won it with seconds to spare as Marc Williams is in one on one but somehow directs his effort wide of the target.

Extra time was to be played to determine the two clubs fate and Llandudno had the chance to regroup with the whistle blowing for full time and came out more assured during the added period.
With only a couple of minutes played in extra time Marc Williams latches on to a ball in the box and neatly dinks it over the keepers head to put Llandudno back in front again, 3-2!
Llandudno now comfortable as Ruthin legs tire, and less than 5 minutes later following sustained pressure Toby Jones does some great work down the left hand side and cuts in past a defender, teases the keeper, and hammers home from close range. 4-2!

The second half starts much like the first with Llandudno putting all the pressure on Ruthin and knocking it around well in total control of the game.
With 7mins to go until the final whistle Ruthin manage to get to the byline and their ball across is deflected and it falls nicely to their midfielder to attack it at pace and bury it past Roberts. 4-3!
