Seasiders Make Strides In Top Six Race
Point Enough To Ensure Final Day Shootout
First chance of the game goes to Llandudno as Toby Jones plays a lovely ball over to James Joyce who attacks it behind the defence with his weaker foot, he strikes at Morris who rushed out and blocks his effort well. Encouraging start for the home side!
Good play from Llandudno as they are finding space well in between the defence and midfield of Bala and it allows Marc Williams to have a bit of time on the ball, this time he nutmegs his man and tries a clever lofted effort over the goalkeeper but it’s just a yard too high this time around.
With 10 minutes on the clock Llandudno have to defend the first corner of the game and it’s dealt with well, Baynes breaks out and sprays a great ball wide to Hughes, who lays it off first time to Jones, who then picks out Evans wide right, he beats his man and the angle is narrowing but he fires a ferocious effort with his left at Morris who beats it away.
Great football again from Llandudno as Jones find Joyce in the area who does well to get a ball across goal, nobody can attack it first time but Baynes picks it up rushing in on the far side, he controls and fires a half volley at Morris who again saves well with 20 minutes gone, Llandudno in control here but Morris keeping the score level.
But the fans didn’t have to wait long after for Llandudno to find the breakthrough! With 21 minutes played Marc Evans loops a cross in out wide and Marc Williams beats everyone to it and nods past Morris! 1-0 to the home side and fully deserved!
Half an hour in and Llandudno still dominating the game, Jones this time does the hard work in midfield with some great skill to skip past two Bala players and he picks out Joyce who made a great run down the left side, the fullbacks cross finds Baynes who again is free at the back post with the angle tight and his volley can’t hit the target.
Acres of space for Mike Williams who retrieves the ball on the halfway line and as he advances on goal the space keeps opening, he runs in to space on the edge of the area and fires a shot at goal but it’s wild and goes well wide. Everyone was rooting for the centre half then who we’ve seen can strike them!
Marc Williams wins a free kick 30 yards out following a shove in the back, Jones delivers a fantastic ball that’s whipped behind the defence and Shaw is there but he can’t stretch enough to direct his effort goal-wards. Still 1-0 with 5 minutes remaining at the end of the first half.
With 1 minute added time on the clock Danny Hughes wins a free kick 25 yards out which Jones strikes but connects with the wall. It’s a corner to Llandudno which is cleared and that’s the end of a great half for Llandudno.

The second half started much unlike the first with Bala pressing in the early stages without creating any real dangerous efforts on goal. The game became somewhat more cautious but with just over the hour mark played Llandudno began to retrieve the momentum and started to press the Bala defence, but again no real efforts on goal as of yet.
With just under 20 minutes left Sam Hart enters the field of play in place of Mike Williams in defence, shortly after Roberts has to clear a ball with an outstretched arm, it falls on the edge to Davies who hits it back at goal and past Roberts but fortunately for us Danny Shaw got himself in a position to block the goal-bound effort.
With 78 minutes on the clock Bala find a frustrating equaliser through new signing John Disney following a corner that was given away cheaply by Danny Shaw who was lucky not head in to his own net when trying to find Roberts but instead missed the post by inches.
In the final ten minutes Llandudno and Bala exchanged some battles up and down the pitch but no further chances were created and it ended level.

With Cefn Druids beating Carmarthen Town at Richmond Park a win or a draw for Llandudno would have left us in the same position next week, needing a win at The Rock against Cefn Druids which would guarantee a top six spot.
