Llandudno travelled to neighbours Conwy after the back of a hard-fought win against Cefn Druids.
They started brightly with early chances for Aron Hughes and Osian Jones, but it was Iwan Jones who opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a fine individual effort, waltzing past 3 challenges and slotting the ball under the keeper’s legs. The lead was doubled after 18 minutes after Aron Royles remained un-challenged and let fly from 20 yards, with the ball nestling in the far corner. Conwy responded well and were probing, but after a bizarre decision by the referee to award Llandudno a free kick just outside the area, Morgan Owen stepped up to make it 2 in 2 with a lovely effort which nestled in the corner. Things got better for Llandudno as Owen played a perfectly weighted ball over the top for Osian Jones, his touch rounded the keeper and fell to Aron Hughes who passed the ball into the empty net, with Jones receiving brief treatment befoe the half time whistle.
HT – 4-0
The second half was a pretty even affair for the opening 20 minutes, after a bout of pressure from Conwy Llandudno lost their chances of a cleen sheet as the ball was bundled home.
Llandudno upped a gear after this, sub Luke Jones came close with 2 efforts before Hughes bundled home to make it 5, Osian Jones finished a flowing move with a piece of lovely trickery and another sub Sam Thomas finished off the rout smashing home into the roof of the net after capitalising on a mistake.
A good performance from the young Seasiders, with 2 crunch games against TNS coming up.
