Successive Hits For Six As Llandudno Impress At The Oval
Llandudno travelled to Caernarfon Town, newcomers to the Under 19 Development League, on Friday evening in search of their second victory of the campaign.
The hosts started brightly and should’ve been 1 nil up, although the linesman did not deem the ball to have crossed the line after an effort from Aaron Davies-Thomas. Llandudno responded and ex stopper Liam Jones saved well from Owain Jones and Osian Jones before the latter put the visitors 1 up, capitalising on a bit of hesistancy and finishing well.
This did not deter the Cofi’s and goalkeeper Loui Harris saved smartly minutes later. An entertaining first half with Llandudno a goal to the good.
After the interval Llandudno upped the tempo and began to control proceedings, a few good good saves from Jones keeping the Seasiders at bay. The second finally arrived after the hour after good play from substitute Iwan Jones teed up Owain Jones, who finished with aplomb. A third was to follow as another substitute Arron Royles found himself in space and rifled in on the half volley. Caernarfon never gave in and were rewarded for their efforts when Luke Baum capitalised on a mistake by keeper Harris, and rolled the ball into an empty net.
The game was all but over though when Osian Jones intercepted a short back pass and he unselfishly played the ball to Royles who grabbed his second of the game, Jones then dusted himself down after being brought down in the box to convert an 85th minute penalty for his second. Captain Ant Marshall started and finished a move to score Llandudno’s 6th.
