Academy Graduate Joe Carey Jnr Signed To Senior Setup

“We believe that not only the quality he’s shown in training, but also his commitment and attitude is worthy of a chance with the first team.” Manager Iwan Williams

Llandudno Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Joseph Carey Jnr from Welsh Alliance Division 1 side Llandudno Albion. Joseph, son of former Llandudno player Joe Carey Snr, is a product of our Academy and is still representing our Development team in the WPDL, but opted to play senior football with Llandudno Albion when he was just 16 years old to gain experience in the senior setup.

Although Joe is still only 17 his technical ability has never been in doubt, and his time spent in the Welsh Alliance should give him a greater opportunity to adapt to the JD Welsh Premier League under the tutelage of Manager Iwan Williams.

Llandudno Albion Manager Paul Cheung (Pictured above with Iwan and Joe) said of the move of not only his player but also a family relative said:

“We are absolutely gutted to be losing Joe but at the same time we couldn’t be happier for him, Joe has been with us since he was a 15 year old and signed on the day of his 16th birthday. It was obvious this move was a matter of when and not if because his progress and development since he’s been with us has been incredible. Joe is not only a brilliant footballer but he’s an honest lad too, we at Llandudno Albion wish him all the best and will be watching him closely and supporting him as he continues to develop.”

Iwan expressed his gratitude to Paul for making the transfer process as smooth as possible and is delighted to add a product of the Academy to the senior setup:

“Joe has been training with us for a few weeks now and has impressed myself and my management team immensely. We believe that not only the quality he’s shown in training, but also his commitment and attitude is worthy of a chance with the first team. He’s a great lad and the squad have taken to him like he’s one of their own. I’m excited to see how Joe progresses and develops under myself and my management team at Llandudno Football Club, and a big thanks to Paul at the Albion who has been supportive of the transfer and for making it an easy transaction.”
