Following the documented changes on the field at the club, the club are pleased to announce further changes have been made at the club, but this time off the field.
Following the announcement of Russ Austin’s decision to step down as Chairman, the club have moved quickly to appoint fellow Director Robert Ford, who agreed to take on the position, as Chairman of Llandudno Football Club. Robert has been a hugely influential figure at the club since his appointment as Club Director and has agreed to try and help the club continue to sustain its position in the Welsh Premier League, and look at progressing the club forward over the years. Russ Austin has since been offered and accepted the role as Club President and will remain a key member of the club.
The club are also pleased to welcome on to the board Matt Wells as newly appointed Commercial Director, Matt is a hugely successful entrepreneur and is Co-founder and Chief Executive of Frontgrid Ltd and is based in Llanfairfechan.
We would also like to welcome Derrick Orme on to the board as our new Financial Director, Derrick is vastly experienced in accounting in relation to football clubs and is a huge football fan and part time journalist for independent football publications and sports agencies.
Jonathan Morgan, current Headteacher at Ysgol y Gogarth has also agreed to come on to the board and assist with the youth development at the club, as well as Jonathan’s business experience in overseeing the recently developed £18m school for students with disabilities in Llandudno, Jonathan also has a close connection with the club with son Rhydian having come through the academy setup and is currently a student of and playing for Cardiff Met in the Welsh Premier League.
And finally Sam Williams has agreed to take over from Doz Langley as Director and General Manager of the club, as Doz makes the decision to focus her time more on club development behind the scenes and gives up her position on the board after 18 years.
The club would also like to welcome back Glyn Lister who will be acting as Club Secretary for the new board, Glyn’s knowledge of the club will prove to be a welcome return and a great asset in particular to the new Board members.
Matt Wells, Jonathan Morgan, Derrick Orme, and Sam Williams will join current Board members Grant Montgomery, Neil Sheldon, and Robert Ford in a new look Boardroom and organisational structure that will hopefully help continue to take this club forward and enjoy great successes down the years.
