Llandudno sign former English Premier League striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

By Geraint Roberts

Llandudno FC are delighted to announce the signing of former Blackpool striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher on a contract that is initially until January.

The striker brings English Premier League experience to the side having scored at places like Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge in his career.

The 37 year-old is available to play against Bala Town on Friday, and he has said that the deal didn’t take too long to complete.

“I’ve been speaking to a few clubs over the last few weeks but it would have taken too long with the international clearance to come through over in England, then I got a call from Iwan asking if I’d be interested in coming in to help out the squad with my experience.”

“I didn’t have to think too long, and the deal was done pretty quickly.” Said Taylor-Fletcher.

The striker who has six Premier League goals to his name believes we are underachieving right now, and definitely has what it takes to remain in the Welsh Premier League.

“We definitely have what it takes to stay up with the squad that’s assembled, but for some reason things haven’t gone to plan.”

“It’s a very strong squad who is underachieving and hopefully just needs a boost in confidence to turn it around.”

Taylor-Fletcher had a taste of Welsh Premier League action last season with Bangor City and really enjoyed his time there.

“I really enjoyed my time at Bangor and playing in the league but I was shocked in how our season ended.”

Manager Iwan Williams is delighted to have signed Taylor-Fletcher and said he needs his type of character in the squad.

“Today we have completed the significant signing of Gary Taylor-Fletcher. We have been struggling in front of goal throughout the course of the season and given my affiliation with the club, I’m not one to allow our run of form to continue whilst standing still.”

“When I spoke with Gary and met him in person to explain the situation we’re in he was more than happy to come on board and help out. He’s played art the highest level and of course knows the league well after helping guide Bangor to a runners-up spot last season.”

“To get to the Premier League he worked so hard from the lowest level upwards and that is the type of character we need higher up the pitch at this current predicament. He will be demanding of those around him and has the quality to find the net.”

“We welcome Gary to Llandudno and he will go straight into the squad against Bala on Friday night.”

As Iwan mentioned, Taylor Fletcher could feature on Friday night against Bala and everyone at the club hopes he enjoys his stay at the club.
