Iwan Williams Appoints First Team Coach

Llandudno Football Club would like to welcome Stephen ‘Midge’ Williams to the club following his appointment as First Team Coach by Manager Iwan Williams.

Steve has had a fantastic career on the North Wales football scene with over 18 years of playing experience at the likes of Porthmadog, Llanrug, Holywell, and Cemaes Bay. Steve was on the books of Manchester United as a child, and frequently represented the North Wales Coast FA Regional squad, playing alongside Llandudno’s youngest ever goalscorer Joe Carey Senior in the middle of the park.

Even though Steve has not too long ago finished his playing career, he always aspired to be a coach and began his coaching journey at the age of 21 with the FAW following his studying at University. Steve’s coaching accolades include coaching the FAW North West Regional Centre, and founded Porthmadog’s Academy back in 2002, before helping to successfully develop many of the youth around North Wales over the last 15 years. Steve currently holds his UEFA B Licence, and is aspiring to obtain his A in the future.

Steve, more commonly known as ‘Midge’, has worked with Iwan at Caernarfon Town when the then Cofi boss appointed Steve as Manager of the reserve side, before making the transition to U19’s and managing in the Welsh Premier Development League.

An announcement regarding an Assistant Manager will be released over the coming days.
