Manager Morgan Gives His View On Druids And Met

Hi Alan, another defeat following a game of two halves, a particularly encouraging second half but time went against us in the end, is it a case of looking at the league after 7 games and still being satisfied with our position or are you disappointed with the outcome?

I’m disappointed with the defeat and more so our first half performance, but the second half showed we had great character and the lads played to the standard where we know they can do, although we got caught on the counter once or twice we had chances to get level and maybe win it but at the end of the day we had positives to come from it. On reflection where we are now in the league I’d have taken it before the season started absolutely.

Cardiff Met on Sunday who have an almost identical record as us in the league, and seem to be impressing everyone this year with good performances at Cyncoed having beaten Bangor and Prestatyn and kept The New Saints to a goalless draw. Obviously a tough ask on the road but we’re sure you’ve worked out a way to be the first team to come away with three point’s right?

Yeah I’m really looking forward to it, last season it was a game of two halves where they were better than us in the first half, but I felt we deserved to win the game with the second half performance. We know how it will be Sunday, they’re a fit young side and I’m excited by the test ahead.

Adam Roscrow is obviously in fine form this season and looks to be an early contender for Top Goalscorer, how much homework do you do on likely goal threats to pass on to the defenders in preparation for the upcoming game?

He’s had a good start and he scored against us last season, he actually ended up being in my team of the season last year for the league, he’s a big focal point for them up top and our defenders will have to be on their game to make sure he doesn’t have an impact on Sunday. We always look at peoples strengths and goal threats before games yes because it’s part of my job, we then look at neutralising that and attacking their weaknesses and hopefully come away with the right result.

Dr.Christian Edwards is a good friend of yours and has recently taken over the helm again at Cardiff, how far do you two go back and who has the overall advantage in the head to head over the years?

I’ve known Christian for a long time, I’ve got a lot of respect for him and he’s done unbelievable to get them through the leagues to the JD Welsh Premier League and doing so playing football the way we do at Llandudno. He’s got the upper hand at the moment in results against each other but I’ll be looking to change that on Sunday.

Alan you were a midfielder back in the day yourself, are you any harsher with the midfielders because of that would you say because you know the position better?

Obviously playing midfield you do look in to your midfielders performances and sometimes you’re a bit harsher with them yes than everybody else, but I’ve always wanted my midfielders to play football and work their socks off first and foremost and that’s exactly what mine do so I’m happy.
